The project involves the installation of a new 2-inch PE gas line and gas meter for the building at 11021 Brookhurst Street, connecting from the existing gas infrastructure at 9918 Katella Ave. This includes all associated plumbing work, cathodic protection for underground lines, and testing per applicable California codes.
Project Description
This project involves the design and installation of a new natural gas infrastructure and comprehensive plumbing system for the commercial facility located at 11021 Brookhurst Street. The scope includes the implementation of a new 2-inch polyethylene (PE) gas line extending from the existing meter at the neighboring building (9918 Katella Ave) to a dedicated new gas meter serving the project site.
The engineering specifications ensure a high-performance system through the use of Schedule 40 black steel for above-ground gas piping and specialized corrosion protection for all underground segments. The design is calculated based on a total developed length of 361 feet to accommodate a building supply demand of 2,267 CFH, ensuring reliable delivery pressure for all connected equipment.
Furthermore, the project incorporates advanced plumbing standards, including acid-resistant waste and vent piping for specialized equipment like soda machines and high-efficiency thermal insulation for hot water supply lines. All installations are engineered to meet the latest California Plumbing and Mechanical Codes (CPC/CMC), featuring seismic-ready clevis hangers and cathodic protection to ensure long-term structural integrity and safety.
