Project Description
This project involves the development of comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) plans for a residential Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) consisting of a living room and bedroom extension. The engineering design focuses on seamless system integration, featuring a high-efficiency HVAC layout that utilizes multi-split fan coil units (FCU) and an air-cooled condensing unit (ACCU) to ensure precise climate control throughout the new living spaces.
The technical scope encompasses a complete design of the MEP infrastructure to support the added square footage. This includes a detailed lighting layout with recessed cans and pendant fixtures , a robust power distribution network fed from a dedicated “PP-ADU” sub-panel , and a modern sanitary sewer and water supply system designed to meet stringent California Plumbing Code standards.
Special attention was given to technical accuracy and code compliance, including the installation of water-efficient plumbing fixtures , integrated fire life safety systems with interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors , and specialized kitchen exhaust mounting details. The resulting design provides a fully modernized, permit-ready solution that balances residential comfort with high-performance engineering specifications.
